Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
1. Introduction
BetterStakeSol ("we," "our," or "us") operates the BetterStakeSol mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our App, including its notifications, AI features, and problem reports.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what the App needs to work: (a) the wallet address you connect (public blockchain data); (b) if notifications are on, your push token, the stake accounts and liquid staking tokens we watch for you, and a log of the notifications we sent; (c) what you send to the AI features and problem reports (sections 5 and 6); (d) usage analytics and device information such as device type and operating system version (section 7). We do NOT collect or store private keys or seed phrases. A contact you add to a problem report is optional.
3. On-Chain Transparency
All staking transactions are recorded on the Solana blockchain and are publicly visible. Your wallet address and transaction history are inherently public information on the blockchain. We cannot change or delete what is recorded on the blockchain.
4. Notifications and Wallet Sign-In
Notifications are on by default and you can turn them off in the App. While they are on, our backend (hosted on Railway) stores, for your wallet address: your Expo push token, the stake accounts and liquid staking tokens (LSTs) we watch for you with the last known on-chain state of each stake account, and a log of the notifications we sent. To protect these records, the App asks your wallet to sign a short message that proves you control the address. Signing is not a transaction, costs nothing, and the session it creates expires within 24 hours. We also keep public validator data and events, which are not tied to you.
5. AI Features
The App uses AI (Anthropic is our AI provider) to explain transactions, errors, and screens, to turn your validator preferences into settings, to answer questions in the support and portfolio chats, and to label unknown tokens. For this, the App sends our backend, and our backend sends to Anthropic: facts about what is on your screen (amounts in SOL, percentages, validator names, stake and token account addresses, error texts), what you type in the chats and in your validator preferences, and, for token labels, public token details such as name and supply. The portfolio chat also reads your wallet's public on-chain data through our backend; your wallet address stays with our backend and is not sent to Anthropic. The AI only writes text: it never signs or sends transactions and never sees your private keys. We do not save this content to a database or log it in production, though a generated explanation can stay in server memory for up to 24 hours, and Anthropic processes it under its own terms.
6. Problem Reports
When you send a problem report, we receive your text, an optional contact, and the diagnostics shown in the "What we send" box: app version, platform and operating system version, network, whether a wallet is connected, app language, and your recent error messages with addresses and links removed. The AI summarises your text and diagnostics; your contact is not sent to the AI. We file the report as an issue in our private GitHub repository, where our team can read it. Your wallet address is never included.
7. Analytics
The App uses Firebase Analytics (Google) to measure app interactions and feature usage, and Firebase also collects device information such as device type and operating system version. Events carry your wallet address once you connect it, and can include amounts, validator names, and token addresses. Screen names are page paths, so a stake account, validator, or token page includes that address. We do not anonymise this data, and events are linked to your wallet address.
8. Third-Party Services
The App and our backend use these third-party services: Solana RPC providers (blockchain reads and transactions); validators.app and Stakewiz (validator data, APY, and scores); Marinade's validators API (epoch statistics); Jito (MEV rewards); Sanctum via Ironforge (liquid staking token data and swaps); solanaview.com (staking reward history); CoinGecko and Jupiter (prices and token data); Anthropic (AI features); Expo and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (notification delivery); Railway (hosting); and GitHub (problem reports). When you use those features, your wallet address, or a stake account address, is sent to the RPC provider, Jito, Sanctum, and solanaview.com. These services also see your IP address and have their own privacy policies.
9. Data Usage
We use collected information to: (a) Provide and maintain the App functionality, including notifications and AI features; (b) Improve and optimize user experience, including aggregate usage statistics (counts and totals that are not tied to a wallet); (c) Monitor for technical issues and security threats; (d) Comply with legal obligations.
10. Data Storage
Your wallet connection, sign-in session, and preferences are stored locally on your device. On our servers, turning notifications off removes your push token. The stake accounts and tokens we watch for you stay until the account is closed or the App removes the watch (for example when you no longer hold the token), or until you ask us to delete them; the log of sent notifications stays until you ask us to delete it. Our servers also keep standard technical logs, such as IP address and requested URLs (which can include your wallet address), for security and debugging.
11. Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect the App. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and wallet.
12. Your Rights
You have the right to: (a) Disconnect your wallet at any time, which clears your sign-in session on your device (sessions also expire within 24 hours); (b) Turn off notifications, which removes your push token from our servers; (c) Request information about data we may have collected about your wallet address; (d) Request deletion of that data and of any stored preferences. Contact us through our website to exercise these rights.
13. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
14. International Users
If you access the App from outside your country of residence, you consent to the transfer of information to servers that may be located in different jurisdictions, including the United States and the European Union.
15. Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the App. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
